Maary J. Blige can add “political journalist” to her growing resume…

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul interviewed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on her Beats 1 show “The 411 with Mary J. Blige,” and it looks like she’s asking the tough questions. Apple posted clips of the interview on  Twitter.

In one clip, she asks Clinton how she plans on doing what President Obama was unable to do while in office since many people in the black community feel he was blocked.

In another clip, Blige sings lyrics from Bruce Springsteen’s “American Skin (41 Shots) to coincide with the current state of police brutality.  “If an officer stops you, always be polite,” she sings. “And never, ever run away / Promise mama you’ll keep your hands in sight,” she sings.

Catch Blige’s interview on Sept. 30 via Apple Music’s Beats 1. This fall, Mary will also hit the road with Maxwell on their “King and Queen of Hearts Tour,” which kicks off Nov. 5th in Baltimore. See dates HERE.
